On Monday, June 12th, 35 Ladies of Charity carpooled together and drove to East Bethany, New York. When we arrived Ray Snyder welcomed us and introduced Fr. Michael LaMarca who gave a brief history of Mary Immaculate East Bethany. From there we visited four parishes including Mary Immaculate Pavilion, St. Isidore Silver Springs, St. Isidore Perry and St. Michael’s Church Warsaw. A docent at each parish provided a brief history of their church bringing to life the rich legacy of the Catholic church in the rural counties of upstate NY. This group of parishes was the “Pilot family of parishes” for the Diocese of Buffalo.

Welcome to the following women who were enrolled into the Association of the Ladies of Charity for the Diocese of Buffalo on May 22nd at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Lancaster, NY by Father Paul Steller, Association President Kathleen Roseti and LCUSA President Holly Walter: Diane Andriaccio, Julie Bordonaro, Karen Czajka, Kathy Gennuso, Judy Henning, Theresa Milkowski, Adele Napierala and Joan Richmiller. Deacon John Owczarczak also pictured, served at Mass.

A huge THANK YOU to the Ladies of Charity, volunteers from St Vincent de Paul who assisted them and the parishioners of St Gregory the Great parish for all of the household goods collected on Sunday, May 21st. All of these items will be distributed to those in need through our Fresh Start ministry with Catholic Charities of Buffalo.

News from St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church
Congratulations to our parishioners, Kathy and Roger Sieracki, for receiving the St. Joseph the Worker Award from the Diocese of Buffalo! The Lay Award of St. Joseph the Worker, presented by the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, recognizes lay people who have helped spread the Gospel throughout the eight counties of Western New York at the parish level.
Kathy and Roger are involved in almost every aspect of our parish and community life. Kathy is the Co-President of our Rosary Altar Society, is part of our Ladies of Charity and volunteers weekly in their thrift shop downtown. She also serves as a lector and Eucharistic minister. Roger is a server for funerals, a lector, and a Eucharistic minister. He and Kathy faithfully collect and deliver our parish donations to the Tigers Den Food Pantry every week. Thank you, Roger and Kathy, for your faithful commitment to our parish and community!
They are regulars at the 10 AM Sunday Mass so if you see them, please congratulate them and thank them for all they do for our community at St. Ben’s and beyond!
